Taste Good, Feel Good, Do Good.
Our partnership with Community Food Centres Canada
Providing access to delicious, nutrient-rich food is at the heart of what we do. But we wanted to go further in helping all Canadians get the fruits and veggies they need. More than four million Canadians are food insecure, unsure of where their next meal is coming from, or missing meals so their kids can eat. Poverty and food insecurity have lasting negative impacts on people’s physical and mental health, and on the fabric of our communities.
Community Food Centres Canada is doing amazing work in addressing these issues by building and supporting organizations in low-income communities across Canada that bring people together to grow, cook, share and advocate for good food. We are proud to partner with CFCC to help to increase access to fresh fruits and veggies in low-income communities.
How does it work? Every time you place an order through your Mad Radish account, we donate one serving of fresh produce to a low-income community.
What is a Community Food Centre?
It’s a vibrant, dignified space that offers programs that increase access to healthy food, build food skills and physical heath, foster belonging and social connection, and create opportunities for community action and civic engagement.
Each Community Food Centre offers a multidimensional program model that is customized to meet local community needs. Programs include free, nutritious community meals; affordable produce markets; community gardens and kitchens; after-school education for kids and teens; and advocacy and peer support programs.
